Glastonbury Garden Pocket Ł165.00
This elegant and unusual 'objet d'art' grew out of Lauren's fascination for the medieval art and symbolism found among the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, the Chalice Well and Tor, which rises 500 feet above the Somerset countryside. And, her love of the colour green. The outside cover's soothing embroidery creates delicately intertwining circles which are built on layer after layer of subtly changing shades of green. When opened out, the Portfolio reveals a multitude of pockets — flat and contoured- to hold a host of treasured needlework smalls. The embroidery here repeats the circle motifs, but allows room for variations on the theme with the addition of neat rows of brightly colored flowers. The inside base allows room for personalization around the tiniest pin cushion cube. Your Glastonbury Portfolio is embroidered on 35ct off white Northern Cross linen with threads from The Gentle Art. Although not included in the kit, a charming set of scrimshaw pieces; a ruler and thread winder, especially designed by Marcy (Pumfret) Wharton, may be ordered.

Kit includes: Chart, linen, threads, and all materials used for finishing and finishing directions.

Garden by the Sea Ł175.00
The flowers which grow in gay profusion in formal gardens and along the coastal roads of New England never fail to Lauren pleasure as she drives here several times a year. Not having a garden of her own, Lauren gardens with needle and thread. This "Garden by the Sea" provides visual and textural interest, exploring the colour wheel and using a variety of familiar embroidery stitches used in different ways. Simple darning is used for the background of each small plot. This "flat" piece was designed to fit the 6" x 6" lid of Olde Colonial's beautifully made box or it can be framed ."Garden" is embroidered on 35ct linen using a gorgeous assortment of threads: 36 shades of Soie Cristal of Caron Collection as well as shades from the Gentle Art, The Thread Gatherer, and Weeks Dye Works. A scattering of glass beads and seed pearls provide just a touch of shimmer to the completed garden.

Kit includes: Chart, linen, needles, beads and seed pearls but not the box.

Classes include a light lunch and usually homemade cake :-)
